Nicholas County is a beautiful county located in the center of West Virginia, surrounded by thick forest and tree topping mountains. We have two high schools and two 7-9 junior highs, and eleven grade schools. As of right now we are not being faced with any threats of our schools being closed. I hope that I am able to say that in the future because we all know that small schools are better schools.
Since I have been a member of Challenge of West Virginia I have had the wonderful opportunity to help distribute books to schools throughout the counties of West Virginia. I was able to give my children's grade school, Birch River Elementary close to 1,000 brand new books ranging from Winnie the Pooh to National Geographic's.
If you would like to receive a free monthly newsletter to learn more about what challenge is doing or if you would just like to talk about what is going on in Nicholas County please feel free to contact me. If I can't answer your question we will work together to find the answer. When parents, teachers, and community supporters work together they can accomplish anything.
