Our county is the smallest county in size, in the state. We are also the northern-most county. In November of 2005 our voters soundly defeated a plan by our Board Of Education members to consolidate our county's 2 High Schools and close our northern-most 2 elementary schools. We sent a clear message (74% opposed) to our elected officials, but stand ever vigilant as we know they will eventually bring this proposal up again.
